Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the Loo of the Year Awards – an event dedicated to celebrating excellence in one of the most essential, yet often overlooked, areas of public life: toilets.
At P-Wave, we are incredibly proud to sponsor these awards. They play a vital role in raising standards across away-from-home washrooms and, importantly, they do so with real integrity. Every toilet is visited unannounced and assessed individually against a comprehensive checklist – meaning there’s no room to hide and no shortcuts to success. Standards are earned, not staged.
We choose to support the Loo of the Year Awards because we genuinely believe that access to clean, safe, and dignified washrooms is a basic right – not a luxury. Washrooms are used by everyone, every day, and the condition they’re kept in has a direct impact on wellbeing, dignity, and public health.
These awards shine a spotlight on the people and organisations who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to maintain high standards in public washrooms. Their work is critical, yet frequently goes unrecognised. The Loo of the Year Awards give them the credit they truly deserve.
For us, this commitment goes beyond facilities alone. It aligns closely with our wider values and initiatives, including our cancer awareness partnership with NHS England, which uses washrooms as a platform for meaningful and potentially life-saving health conversations.
The Awards also gave us a fantastic opportunity to showcase our latest NHS update video, featuring Abbie and James from Balfour Beatty, alongside cancer survivor Berry. Their stories powerfully reinforce why washrooms matter – not just as spaces, but as places for awareness, care and connection.

We’re proud to be part of a community that values continuous improvement and celebrates the unsung heroes who make higher standards possible — one washroom at a time.
Big congrats to St David’s Dewi Sant for taking home the overall Loo Of The Year Award for 2025, and for more information please visit www.loo.co.uk.
